This website has been developed by NHS Barking and Dagenham as part of our efforts to better serve our lesbian, gay and bisexual service users and staff.
The majority of the content has been developed by Dr Justin Varney, the Assistant Director of Health Improvement, who wrote the bulk of the content for the original HealthwithPride.com website in 2005 while volunteering as an advisor to the Department of Health Equality and Human Rights Group. Dr Varney is chair of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Doctors and Dentists and recently authored the chapter on Gay Men's Health in the International Textbook of Men's Health, 9th Edition (2009).
